The Fire Escape Hood in Flame Retardant Holster is a specialized safety device designed for rapid evacuation from fire-related emergencies. Its unique advantage lies in its system approval, as the combination of the hood and holster has been jointly certified with Dräger breathing apparatus in accordance with EN 137:2006, Type 2, ensuring seamless integration and reliability in professional rescue scenarios.

This hood features a high-performance CO P2 combination filter, which is specifically engineered to protect against toxic fire-related gases, vapours, and particles commonly encountered during combustion. The device guarantees a minimum usage time of 15 minutes, providing a critical window for safe escape from hazardous, smoke-filled environments.

The product meets stringent safety standards, holding approval according to EN 403:2004 for fire escape hoods. Furthermore, it has been additionally tested for use against hydrogen sulfide (H₂S) at concentrations of up to 2,500 ppm, in accordance with DIN 58647-7, demonstrating its robustness against specific toxic threats beyond standard fire gases.

The packaging consists of a holster constructed from flame-retardant material, equipped with reflective stripes for high visibility in smoky conditions. It features a hook-and-loop fastener closure and an integrated belt loop with an emergency release for quick donning. The system is modular, allowing for optional attachment of small and large accessory pockets to carry additional equipment. Inside, the hood is sealed in a transparent foil pouch with a clearly marked opening and a perforated opening area, with donning pictograms printed on the inside of the pouch for intuitive use; a pressure equalization valve is also included to allow for air to be released during storage or use.

The total service life of the Fire Escape Hood is 16 years, provided that it is used and stored according to the instructions. To maintain this longevity, a mandatory replacement is required after 8 years, either by exchanging the entire hood with a new refill pack or alternatively by having the filter replaced by Dräger to ensure continued full protection.
